What To Expect In This Year’s International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival
Wisconsin is home to a wide array of ginseng farmers being responsible for the growth of 95 percent of the annual domestic production and that contributes to it being the official state herb of Wisconsin.
On September 14-16, the second annual celebration of the International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival will be held in the 400 block in Wausau. This kind of festival is actually a culinary and agricultural festival that gives attention to agriculture and celebration of the ginseng industry that had such a great impact on the Wisconsin economy.
There will be several activities that will be presented in this year’s International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival that will include historical tours to know ginseng farming and be learning about ginseng history lesson in Marathon County Historical Society, and you can as well witness Poster Art Contest and Exhibits.
These activities also include Granite Peak Chair Lift Rides to take in the incredible view of Wausau from Rib Mountain, a 5K run, cooking demonstrations, food booths with unique, ginseng-infused foods that the festival has to offer and quench your thirst with unique beverages, such as Ginseng-infused wine, beer, soda and coffee, and much more. What makes the festival more exciting and fun is the performances that feature everything from acoustic to lively cover bands to Native American dancers, and the crowning its queen during it opening ceremony, where all presenting a high-energy, fun atmosphere.
