What Research About Shows Can Teach You

Why Miguel Could Be the Good Guy Here

The lovers of “This Is Us” can tell you that Miguel actually starting to grow up is a statement thy never thought they would use. This is however the case as in (Season 2, Episode 11) where we find an addiction expert guiding Kelvin on how to start a group dialogue with the Pearson’s sited in circle looking all uncomfortable. This is however an unusual meeting for them as they would be normally having this get together at Randal’s or Kate and Toby’s nice places.

What leads to this therapy is a drunk Kelvin driving at a high speed with Tess at the back seat. We all thought that we would see Kevin entering into what appeared to be a wreck but the writer knew that we would not have taken it. Beth and Randal had just had to watch their foster daughter Deja re-unite with her biological mom and loosing Tess was not an option here.

A cop pulls him up and when we pick back up with him, he had been in the rehab for three months trying to do right by himself and the people around him that he had hurt.

This is why we are having the Pearson’s meeting which is a family thing meaning that Beth, Miguel and Toby are not invited. They therefore spend the afternoon drinking in bar which Toby thinks is ironic considering the circumstances. During the session, the very deeply emotions of Kevin always feeling ousted by the family comes to head. Everyone is busy with one thing or the other and he feels like a third wheel always so that makes him look for attention in media to get the admiration he didn’t get in his youth.

Basically, the basic law of attraction is what is at play here as Kevin is looking for what he never got to fill in the void but it never does. Miguel, the new one to the group is married to his best friend’s wife although he is all sweet to the Pearson’s family. Not just any best friend, Jack Pearson’s who is too perfect for anyone to stand up to or as they like to refer to it, “no-fly zone”. Miguel knows his place which he is okay with and knows that to change it, it would require the reversal of the very fabric that weaves together the Pearson just like Kelvin. The difference is that, Kelvin will continue to unravel it until he makes amends and heal while Miguel on the other hand might just be the person to sew everything back together.
